Hồ Chí Minh (Vietnamese pronunciation: [hô cǐ miɲ] (Vietnamese pronunciation: [hô̤ tɕǐmɪŋ] (listen)); 19 May 1890 – 2 September 1969), born Nguyễn Sinh Cung and also known as Nguyễn Tất Thành and Nguyễn Ái Quốc, was a Vietnamese Stalinist revolutionary leader who was prime minister (1945–1955) and president (1945–1969) of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam). He was a key figure in the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945, as well as the People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN) and the Việt Cộng (NLF or VC) during the Vietnam War.
He led the Việt Minhindependence movement from 1941 onward, establishing the communist-governed Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945 and defeating the French Union in 1954 at Điện Biên Phủ. He officially stepped down from power in 1955 due to health problems, but remained a highly visible figurehead and inspiration for Vietnamese fighting for his cause – a united, independent Vietnam – until his death. After the war, Saigon, the capital of Republic of Vietnam, was renamed Hồ Chí Minh City in his honor.

In Ho Chi Minh City, it feels as though the future has arrived… and yet the past is never far away. Wide boulevards built during the French colonial era are lined with cutting edge skyscrapers, while jasmine scented temples gently rub shoulders with chic rooftop bars
More than 9 million people call Ho Chi Minh City home and the dynamic energy of its streets is part of its charm. The city is divided into a series of numbered districts and District One is where almost all of the city’s main attractions can be found.
As the sun goes down, find yourself a seat at one of Ho Chi Minh City’s famous rooftop bars, a perfect way to soak up the buzz of the city.
Dynamic, chaotic and energizing. Ho Chi Minh city may have burst onto the world stage as a battle zone but today, there is no better destination to plug in to the pulse of 21st century Asia.

Amazing HONG KONG travel adventure 2015
Hong Kong was a dream come true. In my youth, I grew up watching Vietnamese dubbed Hong Kong movie series that my parents rented with hundreds of VHS tapes. Later on, I moved onto watching Hong Kong movies and just grew in love with urban Asian culture. I finally got a chance to visit Hong Kong and it was one of the best trips I've ever had. I visited Victoria Harbor to the the Symphony of Lights. I went to the Nan Lian Gardens, the Lin Po Monastery with the giant buddha, and the Victoria Peak over looking the city below. My trip is no where near complete because of time issues, but I can't wait to see Hong Kong again.

’Hongkong is the Manhattan dream rising from the South-Chinese Sea’- wrote a delighted traveler upon seeing the skyscrapers of the city. The banks, shopping centers and offices of Hong Kong enriched modern architecture with iconic buildings. From the top of the Victoria’s Peak, one can take a look at the main representative of Asian business and trading, which is continuously developing even under Chinese rule. Hong Kong is one of the most exciting cities in the world. What makes this city so vibrant and energetic? It is nearly seven million residents. The city has a unique blend of Western and Chinese culture, which seem to co-exist very well and help make this city so fascinating.
The most important places to visit in Hong Kong are: The Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery (this statue is one of the five largest statues of Chin), The Victoria Peak (this is something like a top view or a view point from where you can see the entire city of Hong Kong), Avenue of Stars (a place of tribute to the film stars, both past and present Hong Kong cinemas) and many more.
This video offers a lot of tips to help you plan the perfect vacation. If you want to save time and money, the most important Hong Kong travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on http://bookinghunter.com, a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.

Travel China - Tips on Using Public Transportation in Hong Kong
Get familiar with public transportation of Hong Kong for your trip.
There are close to 7 million people in this city. Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated cities in the world. If you own a car or are riding a taxi, you will run into traffic jams like in any large city. However, Hong Kong has various transportation options such as trams, buses, mini-buses, ferries and trains which make it really easy to get around. In fact, Hong Kong has one of the most efficient transportation systems in the world with 80% of its residents using it.
Let's see what it is like to ride on the local train here called the MTR. When using the MTR, you can buy a single journey ticket or a one day pass. Although there are many ticket attendants at all the stations, using the automatic ticket machine is really easy. Here we are at Sheung Wan MTR station and need to go to the Mong Kok station. On this machine, I simply select my destination, it tells me the price, 11 dollars, I put in the money here and I have my ticket. If I do not have change, there is another ticketing option here. This is one of the greatest conveniences of Hong Kong for a local or a tourist, and that is the Octopus card. It is an electronically stored money card which is accepted on trains, trams, buses, ferries and even convenience stores such as 7-Eleven and Circle K. You can buy them at any MTR station or you can also buy them at convenience stores such as 7-Eleven and Circle K.
If you have a ticket, you enter it here, but since I have my Octopus card, you simply swipe it. To find out the platform, I have to know which line I am taking, as the platform will be marked by the last stop on that line. In this case, Chai Wan. Looking at the map, the last stop on the blue line is Chai Wan. Inside the train, we can always tell how far a stop is. That was our quick and painless journey in Hong Kong's MTR system. This is Rosanna Wilcox, showing you Hong Kong.

Things to do in Hong Kong China | Top Attractions Travel Guide
Hong Kong Travel Video including some of the top things to do in Hong Kong along with the best attractions in Hong Kong, China.
Hong Kong is one of the most dynamic cities in all of Asia. From a travel perspective it offers numerous diverse options worth exploring.
Whether one is exploring Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, Victoria Harbor or the New Territories, there are plenty of attractions to cover.
The following is a list of the top things to do in Hong Kong:
1) Avenue of Stars at Night in Kowloon (星光大道)
Wandering around Avenue of Stars at night is the perfect way to experience Hong Kong in the evening. Overlooking Victoria Harbour, this area has been modeled after the Hollywood Walk of Fame championing all of the celebrities involved in the Hong Kong entertainment industry. None is more famous than the Bruce Lee statue. This is also the perfect place to watch A Symphony of Lights laser show which happens daily at 8 pm.
2) Afternoon High Tea at the Peninsula
Sitting down for afternoon tea at the Peninsula is one of the more posh activities in Hong Kong. Expect to wait in line (we waited over 2 hours) for a table. You can get complete sets which include assorted finger food along with a drink. This is definitely not a budget activity.
3) Views of Hong Kong from Victoria Peak and Tram Ride (太平山)
Taking a tram ride up to Victoria Peak to experience the best vantage point of Hong Kong, Kowloon and Victoria Harbor is one of the top attractions in the city. Many come at night; however, we recommend coming in the afternoon on a weekday when you can enjoy having more personal space.
4) Star Ferry boat ride (天星小輪)
There are many different modes of transportation in Hong Kong; however, none are quite as authentic of an experience as taking Star Ferry from Hong Kong Island to Kowloon or vice versa. It's one of the cheapest ways to get around.
5) Junk Boat Ride
Taking a Junk boat ride around Victoria harbor offers some of the best views of the city. It's especially popular at night to take in A Symphony of Lights performance.
6) Hong Kong Park and Tea Appreciation Ceremony (香港公園)
To get away from all of the hustle and bustle check out Hong Kong Park for a tranquil escape. If you have time participate in a Chinese tea appreciation ceremony.
7) Sampan Boat Tour in Aberdeen (舢舨)
Taking a ride on a traditional Sampan boat allows you to experience what life is like for Chinese fishermen.
8) Eating Dim Sum (點心 - 点心)
One should not leave Hong Kong without first trying dim sum. These small sized bites are treats that are accompanied by a pot of Chinese tea.
9) Taking a night bus tour of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon
Taking a night bus tour allows you to visit distinct areas in both Hong Kong Island and Kowloon such as Mong Kok and Causeway Bay.

Known as The City Of Bridges, Venice has hundreds to explore. The Accademia Bridge links the San Marco district to the Accademia Gallery, and offers some of the Grand Canal’s finest views. The oldest of the Grand Canal’s four crossings is the Rialto Bridge, which today still serves as the gateway to the Rialto Markets. The most famous of all is the Bridge of Sighs, which connects Doge’s Palace to the historic prison.
Venice is a city to get lost in, so put away your map and let her surprise you. Discover waterfront promenades of The Zattere and the sleepy canals and spacious piazzas of Castello. On the tiny island of Murano, glassmakers have been creating works of incredible delicacy and color for over 700 years. Further across the lagoon, the island of Burano is famed for its brightly colored houses and exquisite lace.
Venice has shone her light into the far corners of the world for over one and a half thousand years. Just remember, this city smiles upon those who linger. So stay for a few nights, or stay for a month, and savor every moment she has to offer.

Starting at the northeast corner of Flamingo Road and walking north you will pass several hotels. All have something to offer the first time tourist. For now, let’s just walk up and down the center strip without going into the hotels.
The following stroll past thirteen center strip hotels is about a mile and a half long and is a great way to acclimate yourself to Vegas.
3595 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas, NV 89109 - (800) 227-2279
The Barbary Coast opened in 1979 with 150 rooms and still has less than 200. It is one of a dozen Las Vegas casino properties (including Sam’s Town and the Stardust) owned by Boyd Gaming, a publicly owned gaming company that trades on the New York Stock Exchange. With $2 billion in revenues, Boyd Gaming also owns casinos in several other states.
Take note that there is a shuttle pickup area on the Barbary Coast’s south side on Flamingo Avenue (right across from Ballys.) This is where you can get picked to go to other hotels (such as the Rio and Palms) that are west on Flamingo.
3555 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas, NV 89109 - (800) 732-2111
The Flamingo is one of four hotels on the Las Vegas center strip owned by Caesars Entertainment.
The others are Caesars Palace, Paris and Bally’s. Previously known as Park Place Entertainment Corp., Caesars is $4.5 billion public company that trades on the New York Stock Exchange.
Steeped in Vegas history, the Flamingo was one of the first hotel/casinos on the strip originally opening on New Year’s eve in 1946.
The 105 room hotel was built on a dusty road in the middle of nowhere by mobster Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel who was murdered six months later. It became the Flamingo Hilton in 1971 before being sold to Caesar’s in 1999. It now has more than 3,500 rooms and one of the best pool areas on the strip.
3535 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas, NV 89109 - (800) 634-6441
...is certainly not a luxurious hotel but it has inexpensive room rates and its location is ideal. The oriental-themed hotel built in the shape of a Japanese pagoda has been open for 4 decades. It is famous for its massive vintage automobile collection and its "Legends in Concert" show which has been running for more than 20 years. Originally with 180 rooms, it now has 2,700 rooms which it manages to keep pretty full.

Hong Kong, a former British territory, is one of the most densely populated places in China and in the world. You’ll find quiet neighborhoods full of temples and a dazzling skyline loaded with shopping and dining opportunities.
Your Hong Kong tour must include visits to the many religious sites scattered around the city, where incense wafts from shrines and monasteries take over entire hillsides. You’ll have a marvelous time shopping in tax-free Hong Kong, where you’ll be able to find clothing, jewelry, furniture, and everything else under the sun.
Don’t forget about Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, which overlooks the stunning Victoria Harbor. From there, your Hong Kong sightseeing may detour to Central, the city’s main business district, which looks like something out of a sci-fi film. The observation deck atop the International Commerce Centre will show you fantastic views of the city.
Hong Kong isn’t all cityscape, of course; there are many gardens, parks, and other green spaces for you to explore. You’ll also find beaches, national parks, and quiet islands for you to indulge in natural beauty and serenity. This city truly has everything.

Ho Chi Minh City, on the southern tip of Vietnam, is one of South East Asia’s emerging boom cities. Still affectionately known by many as Saigon, this is Vietnam’s largest city and its economic engine room.
Ho Chi Minh City has an irrepressible soul and an entrepreneurial energy that hums day and night. Despite almost a century of colonialism and brutal conflict, today this city is renowned for its warm hospitality, which even extends to former foes. A youthful enthusiasm flows through this city, just like the stream of scooters, motorbikes and cars that flow endlessly through its chaotic streets.

There are multi-storied buses and trams carrying the passengers in the busy inner city. The visitors are attracted by the night market, the Jade Market, the harbor with the living boats, the Star Ferry with its famous ships, the floating restaurants and the junks...

GETTING AROUND:
Hop on the double-decker tram or the 'ding ding' for a fun way to get around Hong Kong. Tourists can use their Octopus Card to get a ride on this unique mode of transportation.

One of Hong Kong's most essential tourist attractions and one that should be on top of every itinerary is a ride on the iconic Star Ferry. The symbolic fleet run on four routes with the most popular passing central Tsim Sha Tsui or as it is commonly known as TST.
Travel back in time with Ocean Park's “Old Hong Kong” themed attraction. Witness how it was like to live in the yesteryear of Hong Kong during the 50s, 60s, and 70s as you take a trip down memory lane on board a vintage tram, antique bus or rickety rickshaw.
EAT, SHOP, AND PARTY:
Located at Queen's Road, Central is the iconic steak restaurant Gaucho. Taste sumptuous steak cuts which go well with premium wines available at this dining place.
Experience an unforgettable night out in one of Hong Kong's best night life destinations in Lan Kwai Fong. PLAY is the hottest super club in town featuring the hottest music served up by play's resident DJs.

Rising from the waters of Venice Lagoon is the Italian city of Venice, a city like no other.
Begin your visit in the central district of San Marco, and walk upon one of the world’s great squares, St Mark’s Square. The square is surrounded by some of the city’s finest jewels such as St Mark’s Basilica, St Mark’s Campanile and Doge’s Palace.
Just outside stand the Columns of San Marco and San Teodoro. From here, journey along one of the world’s great aquatic thoroughfares, The Grand Canal. Glide past elegant palazzos; once the homes of wealthy merchants, today many of these palaces house important museums and galleries.

Produced by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, "Las Vegas 360: Travel & Tourism" looks at the positive impacts of tourism on the Southern Nevada Community.
